The game just felt like business as usual.
How did I do?
The teams in our conference rarely surprise me. Defense was Wyoming’s strong point, but they could only hang for the first quarter and then it was all down hill. Their defense did play more zone, which made sense with the success we have had against man to man match-ups. The problem with playing zone is there are always soft spots and Max is good enough to exploit those openings and move the chains. For Wyoming, the Cougars …

We got the interception I was looking for. Brandan Bradely knocked the ball up in the air and David Nixon reeled it in and took it down the field for a touchdown.
The offense was very efficient in marching down the field for score after score. I just heard it was BYU’s 9th consecutive sell out, with just over 64,000. Max and the starters were taken out with 4 minutes left in the third quarter so it will be the second week in a row that the back-ups get to play.

Offense
We started out a little slow but as the second quarter progressed our play improved and we were able to move the ball well. This game feels a little more like business as usual. Austin has two TD catches, and Harvey has one rushing TD.
The Pokes are playing more zone than usual and I would think that one of their adjustments would be to man the corners up and give Austin’s guy some help with the safety. Wyoming’s defense would then be able to bring more pressure and hopefully be …

The Cougars are up seven nothing because of a defensive touchdown. The offense needs to return to running the ball and softening up Wyomings front seven. Wyomings defense is playing well, while Max shows signs of inaccuracy. The offense has also dropped a few balls which has stopped drives from progressing.
Wyoming’s offense continues to work the weak side out, where they know we are playing softer coverage. We are also playing more nickel defense on 2nd and 3rd and long.
The quarter was not that fun to watch.

I am all for this young man deciding to come to BYU, but it’s time to look at this objectively just to make sure we aren’t jumping down this young man’s throat.
He has narrowed his list down to 5 school: BYU, USC, UCLA and Stanford. Let’s all look at each school, what they have to offer and let’s come to a sensible decision.
UCLA- Norm Chow has a huge connection to Punahou and also shares the same LDS beliefs. Yet he is a defensive player and won’t be around Chow. He’ll be …

Coach Mendenhall has said time and time again that the most important thing in life is not football. He’s also wise enough to see that the only way that we will get enough publicity to get people interested in the Church is by winning football games. Coach has talked to the team on numerous occasions about the importance of playing from a different place so that when others watch us play football they will notice something different about us, then upon further inquiry we will be able to speak about how …

Devin Moore is Wyomings best player and a guy that can change the momentum of the game with one touch of the ball. Our defense will have to do a great job of bottling him up and keeping the run lanes closed. I’ve played against him a few times and he has a great burst of speed and hits the hole running low and hard. One thing our defense will have to do better is control the cut back lanes and the back side of the running plays. Players with Devin’s kind of …

10. I am putting this one first, I DO want to see Utah and TCU win. I think it will bring more positive attention to the conference and it will set those games up to be “must watches.” It could also continue to shake up the top 25 and help the stars align to get us another national title….. I didn’t stutter.
9. I DON’T want to see anyone get injured. Injuries are something BYU has avoided in recent years and can hopefully continue to avoid. We need to get up …

If you didn’t hear the radio show, you missed out. Mr. Jim Rome had Coach Mendenhall on his show at 11:00 AM our time. The show went extremely well. Rome even commented that he never has a guest on for so long, but he was so interested in hearing more of what Coach Mendenhall had to say that he kept him longer than normal.
One thing that I found very interesting was that he talked about BYU’s peculiar recruiting process and how he prefers to recruit players with a solid character, not just …

I’ve had a few minutes to sit down and watch some Wyoming tape and here are my first impressions:
The defense – as usual – is their strong area. They have a tenacious defensive front and a secondary that they believe can match-up man to man, as well as play solid zone coverage.
They love to bring pressure. The defensive coordinator’s favorite thing in the world is running stunts and hopefully rattling the quarterback’s nerves, forcing him to make bad decisions (I hope they have a plan B).
Bryan Kehl, Former Cougars, NFL »
September 17, 2008
Every Wednesday, former Cougar great and current New York Giant Linebacker, Bryan Kehl will be giving us the inside scoop on what it’s like to play in the NFL. I thought because you all liked hearing about my BYU football experience, you might also like to hear what it’s like at the next level. Bryan was a great college player and I have no doubt he’ll bust into the starting line-up for the Giants very soon. Enjoy…
“Where to begin? I guess I’ll start by giving a brief re-cap …

You wouldn’t think a turtle could be so ferocious. I think next time the Bears will block the corner and leave the safety unblocked, that way the ball carrier will have time to get out of bounds before he is murdered. They might also think about reducing the WR splits so the quarterback’s lollipop will get to the wideout quicker.

I have been keeping up with the ongoing saga of Vince Young and the fans in Tennessee. Just to catch everyone up, Mr. Young was playing horribly and the fans started booing. Then he threw an interception. On the sideline he pouted and whined and then refused to take the field when his team went back on offense. The fans promptly cheered when they thought Vince was being replaced by Kerry Collins. When he saw Collins going in and the crowd’s reaction, he jumped off the bench, went …

After reading this guy talk about how athletically superior the UCLA players are, I started to look at his comments objectively. I noticed that they are completely biased and have zero foundation in the facts.
For starters I want to talk about what athletic means. An athletic person is not simply a player that can jump high, run fast, and lift a lot of weights – otherwise everyone who went to the combine would get picked up. An athlete is an individual that can excel in numerous athletic disciplines. He possesses coordination …
