USU teaser, motivating words from head coach Brent Guy…

I was snooping around on the internet and came across the only fan blog for the Utah State Aggies and I found one of the single most inspiring quotes I have ever read.

After USU’s incredible victory of the Univeristy of Idaho, Brent Guy lets us know how he fired his boys up before the game.

“I told the team we were Ricky Bobby today,” Guy said, referring to the driver from the movie Talladega Nights.

“We’re either first or last. That’s exactly what we were playing for.”

Quoting Ricky Bobby…. Ricky Bobby! You can say it as many times as you want, but it never sounds any better. Someone tell me why this coach is getting his inspiration from a Will Ferrell movie. Mr. Guy is one step away from asking the Aggie mascot for some more cow bell. - “I got a fever and the only cure is more cow bell, baby!”- SNL

Other quotes he might use:

When calling a new offensive play “Watch my icy hot super slide!” -Blades of Glory

When asked if he is capable of resurrecting the Aggies program, the mere thought is: “Mind botteling, Yeah, mind-bottling. You know, when things are so crazy it gets your thoughts all trapped, like in a bottle?” -more Blades of Glory

I will let you fill in all the other movie quotes you would like, but I think it is safe to say that Mr. Guy will be looking for a new “race car” next year.
