I wanted to let everyone know what they can expect from me this week. The bye will allow me to catch my breath and address a few things from the programs past. During game weeks, I am trying to concentrate on the upcoming opponent and I don’t get to discuss the program as much as I would like to. I am going to use this week to talk about the following:
- The Crowton years- this explanation could take a few post.
- The Tulsa game- I know there are a few people that would like to know what happened there.
- My favorite quotes from the coaching staff.
- Catching up with Kehl.
These will just be a few of the bigger article to look forward to. I am brainstorming about some other light-hearted posts, because there should always be a little levity in your life. Your requests are always heard…

Hey Gooch I’d like to know what kind of speeches Bronco makes at halftime or before the game? Are his speaches dry like he usually talks or does he ever get emotional? I’d also like to get your thoughts of what you were thinking before Beck to Harline and Hall to Collie. Thanks for the blog, keep up the good work!
BRONCOS PRE-GAME AND POST GAME SPEECHES – This is a quick one so I will take it for Quinn…”It is going to come down to our execution against execution. Our will against their will.”
That is really all he says to the team. Now when he was D Coord. It was a little different tone with the D. Usually along the lines of, “You can’t lose contain on the QB. You can’t try and do everyone else’s job.” Really not too different from the above quote to the team, but with a little more “excitement” in his voice. “Quinn quite trying to help on the run.”
So Cougs36, im throwing this one out there….your Markell Staffieri, right? You and Gooch were some of my favorite players out there to watch, LOVED THE HUSSLE!!!
So, my husband and I were talking about players “celebrity” status on campus. Is it kind of hard to deal with that most people know basically who you are, but don’t actually know you? We thought you might be able to shed some light on that.
Quinn,
Maybe you can explain secondary technique for me. I have always felt that BYU’s corners should look for the ball on a long pass to try to break it up or maybe make an interception, but they just play the receiver and consequently sometimes let a ball go right near them for a catch. A good example of this occurred in one of the NFL games this past week. In one case, a defender turned around in time to intercept the ball, and in the same game another didn’t and the ball went right past his head and was caught for a TD, when he easily could have knocked it down or actually caught it. Thanks.
Great! Looking forward to your insight on all of those subjects.
I want to hear about Nate Soelburg. At least one story. Hopefully more.
Maybe some shinanagins that happen at the bottom of the pile or trash talk before the snap ect. Or how the recruiting process goes down.
Leave your response!
